Opportunities: Dew Drop’s Success Story
Priyaranjan Kumar’s field immersion with Sunbird Trust at Dew Drop Academy transformed theory into practice. Working with local teachers and mentor Mirudhulla Ma’am, they supported child-centred, inquiry-based lessons and community projects that made learning relevant to rural life. Sunbird Trust’s infrastructure upgrades—classrooms, water, electricity and transport—combined with teacher training powered enrollment from a few dozen to over 240 students. Dew Drop now models inclusive education: low fees, scholarships for vulnerable children, contextual curriculum and active learning. This success demonstrates how sustained mentorship, community ownership, and respectful pedagogy can create resilient schools that truly open opportunities for every child and beyond.
